about

Ancient Ways was born of spiritual experiences happening along the years. However, the framework to understand this album comes from a book by Brian McLaren: "Finding Our Way Again: The Return of the Ancient Practices". This book changed my perspective about these experiences and made me able to see it as an ongoing process that I didn't invent, but that has been here all along. Several centuries of pilgrims and saints have practiced these steps. I went through many of the phases described in that book.

Since I'm standing on an ancient Christian tradition of contemplation and meditation, this music is the result of that journey of faith and self-discovery, aided by the voices and textures of electronic instruments. I'm a firm believer that the sounds of a Moog Voyager can clearly embody the voice of angels.

The tracks represent an order or movement from the earthly to the celestial and back again. The process can be described in three steps: katharsis (tracks 1-3), fotosis (Tracks 4-15) and theosis (Tracks 16-18).

Originally, this album was comprised by only three tracks containing each of the pieces. However, I had eliminated that arrangement and made the different parts mobile. In this way, it can be rearranged and rebuilt at will.

Enjoy the journey. Or better yet, create your own!.
